Tara Kye

Tara Kye

Music Genre(s): Rock, Country, Latin.

Each song is fresh, inspired by a heartbeat, a soul, and has a life of its own. A story to be lived.

Tara Kye was raised in a family who loved to play music, sing, party, laugh and share moments with those they loved. Some of her best memories were of her singing around the campfire while her Grampa played banjo or guitar. Her father challenged her the most.

One year during a family vacation, her father suggested that she go sit on one of the rocks and just play her sax. At that moment, she learned how to improvise, create, and enjoy!

That one crazy memory liberated me…

At the age of 24, recently graduated from university and engaged to be married, Tara Kye was diagnosed with cancer. Her life had been irreversibly altered.

Everything went black, I cried ‘til my soul bled. My dream wedding and wedding dress – cancelled.

As part of the “soul healing” section of her treatment, she rekindled her love of alto-saxophone in which she had played since the age of 14.  Tara Kye also completed operatic natural voice training under Gary Zellers (The Queen of Spades, Semiramide, Un Ballo in Maschera, La Buona Figliola) who was a member of the Vancouver Opera where he shared the stage with Joan Sutherland on many occasions during his musical career.

This experience inspired her to start writing songs, and in enters John Dean (Artist, Writer, Musician, Producer and Engineer). They first met 30 years ago at a piano store, where her parents had purchased a digital piano as her wedding present, which started their writing collaboration. His Classical piano training and experience has gifted John with delicious melodies, harmonies, and rhythms.

Her albums Rock n The Country and World n Latin Vibes has brought her International acclamation and recognition.

Tara Kye’s songs like Forever One hit the UK’s iTunes top 40, Become the Phoenix spent 12 weeks in the Georgia Songbirds top 10 with 6 of those weeks being number one and Bitterly Cold was voted best love song of 2022 on Indie Radio USA and two of her albums were released on all platforms @TaraKye.

Tara Kye has recently opened her catalogue to work with Artist and Producers, Jenny DuHaime (JDP3and Fear Escape on some new world beat acoustic songs such as “Paris” and has formed the band Tara Kye and Nefarious Wayze which include members of 79 Octane (Beebe Lee, and Eric (Frizz) Caldwell. Paul Linney, and Warren Nichols) including JDP3 on vocals and fiddle. Their most recent original release titled Kiss Me Quiet written by Tara Kye and John Dean was inspired by a conversation she had with her best friend and Country Music Legend Glen Cain prior to his passing on September 2nd, 2023.

It is in his (Glen Cain) honour that I asked John Dean and our band Tara Kye and Nefarious Wayze to collaborate with me in completing the song Kiss Me Quiet. It was my gift to Glen. It was my way of saying “Thank you for your love’’!

Members of this band have decades of experience in influencing, social media, radio, press, tv, events, concerts, festivals, street teams, sponsorship, and media experience which maximize the success of their shows.
