A Texas Veteran turned Singer Songwriter releases 80’s Child on Memorial Day Weekend
Do we ever really forget that one era that impacted us the most? Was yours in your teens, mid-20’s, Late 30’s, or later. Culture seems to have a special place in our hearts that impacts us the most and we tend to gravitate towards those who share that same revered decade. Music, Fashion, Art, Sports and even Sciences do that to us. Whatever that interest lies in you, you will be stimulated by that one moment in time. The same happened to Dan Wesley White in the 80’s and this is where he found his utmost freedom.
White, a BigRecords.World artist, recently hit the top 100 Country Independent CashBox Charts with his song Politically Incorrect and released 80’s Child on Friday, May 23rd. This new single is expected to be another top Country chart favorite and definitely a reminiscence for the 80’s generation. It’s a story told to Gen X’ers to let them know how the 80’s Child grew up and how they differentiate between that generation; playtime, technologies, anxieties, jobs, expectations, music, the differences in learning culture and, YES, we hung out at record stores and at the mall.
From an early age White sang in the church choir where his dad preached and by grade 4 he learned to play the trumpet and the tuba. Not bad instruments to learn for a child who would later enlist to the US Army and play in their band. During his highschool years, White would pick up the bass guitar, and after his 9 years of service, enrolled to a bachelors of Music to become a Music Educator in 2006. Yearning to do more, he began recording songs based on country life and the influences of living in a border town near Mexico. He mixes traditional Country with Tex-Mex influences and Southern Rock. He remains an advocate for veterans and previously released a song in hopes to bring awareness to suicide prevention for US Vets and their families in crisis, tiled “22”.
White’s songs are of a true storyteller style with a comical and toe tapping/head bopping punch.
80’s Child is distributed through SONY / The Orchard.
