The captivating hook and chorus line in Rubber meets the Road, truly gives you the impression of driving down a long winding road making each curve your next statement on life. One feels the wind in their hair and the rumble of the motor underneath them with each beat of the rhythm section and changing gears in the transitions of life through the catchy guitar licks.

Johnny Guest’s iconic line Let the good times roll, roll me away give us the impression of songs from the past which give clarity to a new modern feel through the build up towards the next verse. One could get caught into the dream of racing down the road thinking of songs from yesteryear such as hits from Alvin Lee of Ten Years After in I’d Love to Change the World combined with a Creedence Clearwater Revival style flare meets ZZ Tops “La Grange” all the while giving us a smoother yet deeper soulful Chris Stapleton vocal.
The lyrics were meant to inspire someone to come out of their bear cave from the long winter and take a breath of fresh air. Winters are long and seasonal depression is a real thing. It’s not easy under conditions that don’t grant you sunshine like Northern summers do. The cold is set to ache your bone, lack proper nutrition and vitamin supplementation as well as cause Depression. During these hard times, Northerners are called upon to create their own fun and inner sunshine. Johnny hopes that this song added to one’s playlist will inspire just that.
These lyrics were a message of hope to myself, and to anyone who endures seasonal depression. When you could just as easily give up…get outside. Feel the sunshine, let the wind meet your skin, breathe out, and breathe in deep.

Johnny Guest held his song release party on June 13th at the Three Bridges Distillery and Taproom in Midland, Michigan located at 240 E Main St Suite A, Midland, MI 48640, USA.
Our shows are a road trip, strangers on a bus singing along to great music, arriving as friends.
Johnny Guest Trio’s music is like going on a Road trip with these Northern Musicians. They recently locked themselves away to deliver the perfect Road Trip / Driving song for their audience during the cold winter months and then headed to Nashville to record their fine tuned development with renowned producer Ken Royster. The results are stellar, claims Johnny Guest (Frontman of Johnny Guest Trio).
