Vancouver-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Ashley Woods is set to release her new single “Closure” on June 6, 2025. This poignant song is a reflection of Ashley’s journey through darkness and her quest for healing.
“Closure” is a song born out of Ashley’s personal struggles and emotional exhaustion. It’s a journal entry, a confession, and a survival story all at once. The song explores the complexities of loss and learning to live with what remains.
Ashley Woods is a singer-songwriter known for her emotionally honest lyricism and cinematic sound. Her music blends elements of indie pop, folk, and alt-pop, creating a space that feels deeply personal and universally resonant. Being a singer-songwriter brings an artist to the table giving them an introspection, a Soulsearch based on a particular moments, in good and in bad, that can relate to others including their audience and find a place of healing in music. For this artist who only took to the pen 6 years ago, this song opened a door to Ashley’s heart, a vulnerable side that needed to be told.
This song means everything to me, and it’s not tied up in a bow. It’s a journal entry, a confession, and a survival story all at once. My hope with this song; that all the pain that was turned into music could in return touch someone else’s pain, and make them feel a little less alone.
