Richard Coutts (Ric), from Calgary, Alberta, Canada releases his music as

Accidental Martyr. His long career includes working in high profile bands from

rock to jazz and blues, as well as big band orchestra. “I choose to be true to

my music experience and passion as opposed to chasing trends. I look to

inventive production, good themes, authentic lyrics and strong melody.”

Ric’s music is on all streaming platforms and features other artists and

vocalists. He’s received several FYC Grammy considerations and consistent

play on key influencer platforms. Ric collaborated with a young artist from

Texas, Maeve De Voe. Their song "Nothing But A Coward" deals with internet

bullying. It continues to stream well throughout the world.

Accidental Martyr received an ISSA award for this socially aware song.

Why the name ‘Accidental Martyr’ ??

Initially it was inspired by a Warren Zevon tune called, "Accidentally Like A

Martyr". Those of us who take on the challenge of living up to our beliefs,

knowing there is the potential of sinking instead of swimming. Refusing to

accept the notion that risking our lives should feel meaningless.
