Erick Rush

Erick Rush was born in Dar es Salaam in 1990 and immediately began a life of traveling, First within Tanzania and later immigrating to The United States and eventually settling in Edmonton, Canada. The one thing that was always consistent in his life was Hip-Hop. Gathering inspiration from the likes of Tupac, Nas, Rap-A-Lot & Cash Money Records, he eventually found his sound and decided to take Music seriously.

His first big break came when he became a top 5 finalist on the first season of VUZU AMP's "The Hustle", making a huge impression on African hip-hop fans. In January 2017, while still in South Africa, he dropped his fourth solo mixtape "New Age Voyage" to positive reviews. Through his Early Cosigns from Wyclef  Jean to his show-stealing features with Nasty C, Erick Rush continued to evolve his brand globally all the while pushing his own artistic limits. When he returned to Edmonton and immediately dropped "The Heist" and now returning with his Immigration Story with 'Culture Shock: An Immigration Story'.

Culture Shock (Album):

Erick describes "Culture Shock" as the Album he's been writing his whole life. With his father narrating and Erick Rush Illustrating, Culture Shock tells the story of his family's immigration. This album not only touches on the black experience in Canada but also the Immigrant Experience. Utilizing skits and poetry, Erick crafted an album that is not only relevant to the times but also his most intimate piece of work.
